I am happy to announce the release of the most anticipated feature update for Sonic Tag-Team Heroes to date. This update has been an extensive rework of the existing system that allows a wide variety of exciting new play options and has necessitated a facelift for the branding of the game as a whole. While teams of the classic three Types will no doubt continue to be popular, the Technique Type will allow seamless integration of additional players to the existing team structure without requiring players to double up on Types.
The Technique Type Update
Introducing an all-new character Type!
The Technique Type rounds out the possibilities for Player Character builds with a variety of archetypes. That's right, this new Type is really three new Types in a trenchcoat!
The Genius: For mad scientists, archeologists, detectives, and other characters that rely on their brains! (Think Chris Thorndyke, but the good one from Season 3 of Sonic X)
The Figurehead: For squad leaders, warrior princesses, smooth-talkers, and anyone else who relies on a silver tongue! (Think Sally Acorn)
The Generalist: For self-inse-I mean jack-of-all trades characters that don't fit in other categories, such as those with paramilitary backgrounds or civilians with skills and connections that lend themselves to adventuring! (Think Tom Wachowski)
Pre-gen characters for each of these archetypes are now available to download on the website!
A New Look for the Book
You might notice a new character on the cover art. This is Max the Tinkerer, and he's here to usher in a new era where players can play as humans using the new Technique Type!
Also, the logo has been updated to signify there are more than three Types to choose from.
Additionally
Fixed an errata on the Special moves page (formerly "Team Blast") that referenced 6 as a special result. This was a holdover from pre-1.2.0 that slipped through the cracks. (HOW?!)
